About Me:

This being human is a guesthouse.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness
comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be cleaning you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from the beyond.

Rumi

A few years ago one of my former university teachers told me that having known me for a long time she can see some strange consistency in all this great inconsistency which is called my life.
I took it as a great compliment.

During my almost 40 years of living on this beautiful planet I have studied many different subjects in four different universities; lived at least in three different countries (depending on how long is considered 'living' and not just 'staying' or 'travelling'. The shortest of these three has been 2 years); practiced classical guitar, table tennis, badminton, karate, zen meditation, 5Rhythms dance; travelled in Europe, Siberia and India; translated books and poetry; worked as a car driver and care worker, graphics designer and interpreter, psychologist and publisher (just to name just a few); written articles about psychology and Buddhism. Depending on the time and place I can be very introverted or very extroverted, very passionate or very detached, very intellectual or very sensual, very artistic or very practical, very brave or very cowardly, very confident or very hesitant, very loving or very selfish …

Two main consistencies in this seeming chaos have been my interest in Buddhist and Taoist philosophy (well, it's not an interest really - after my very first encounters with these teachings I realised that this is the world where I belong and have always belonged to); and my ceaseless attempts to understand better myself and people around me. This last one was also the main reason which brought me to London where I recently finished my diploma training in existential and person-centred psychotherapy.

Thank you for stopping by and reading - I'm already impressed by your patience. May you be happy and successful in whatever you are doing.

To undertake a genuine spiritual path is not to avoid difficulties but to learn the art of making mistakes wakefully, to bring to them the transformative power of our heart.
